The Shark One, Not the Foxx One

Discussion Episode:  Bait

Pod-fave Alexandre Aja crawls his way back into the horror genre with this week’s alligator-in-a-house movie, Crawl.  That got Dave to thinking about another lots-of-teeth-in-a-place-they-shouldn’t-be movie, Bait.  The shark one, not the Jamie Foxx one.

Semi Endgame

Best of 2019 (so far)

June has come and gone.  That means that, mathematically, half of 2019 is gone with it.  As is the custom around here, Dave and I discuss our five faves from 2019, and it’s pretty lady-heavy.  Enjoy!

That Thing You Don’t

Discussion Episode:  Favorite Movies About Fake Musicians

Pod-fave Danny Boyle’s new movie, Yesterday debuts this weekend.  We’re fresh off doing an episode on a musical biopic, so Dave thought we’d try something different (if not completely unique):  our favorite movies featuring fake musical acts.

Back to the Wan Well

Discussion Episode:  Annabelle: Creation

What a winding road led us to doing an episode on 2017’s Annabelle: Creation.  Toy Story 4 and the Child’s Play reboot both debut this week,  both will make a killing featuring dolls, so we thought we’d look back on another successful movie featuring a toy.

A Cinderella List

Discussion Episode:  Favorite Bill Murray Movies

Frequent Bill Murray collaborator, Jim Jarmusch hits theaters again this weekend with his latest Murry movie: The Dead Don’t Die.  Murray is a pod fave, as you can tell by the amount of times we put Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day on lists, so this time, instead of a straight list, it’s more of a career snapshot.  So you’ve go that going for you.

Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

Discussion Episode:  Favorite Movies About TV Personalities

Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson team up this week for Late Night.  Thompson plays a late night TV host which got Dave to thinking about our favorite movies featuring a character with a job in television.  Trust me, it’s easier to follow that you think.
