I’ll admit that perhaps we here at Movies on Up are a little late to the Sharknado party, about a month late. I’m going to blame it on Dave’s aversion to watching any sea-based horror movie not called Deep Star Six and my general ignorance of what may or may not be “trending” on the “Twitter”.

When I was a youngster, I remember vividly the writing prompts given to me on the first day of school. What did you do on summer vacation? When putting together our Summer Preview Episode, I think I began to have some grade school flashbacks. It’s not quite summer, and it’s sure not fall-but I thought I’d share with you what we all will learn from this year’s crop of summer movies.
It’s almost time for Summer Blockbuster Season, but before we get there we need to put an end to Awards Season. And that’s what MTV will do next Sunday April 14th with their whateverth annual MTV Movie Awards. Since it involves movies and awards, and because we love wasting our time on stupid stuff like this, obviously we’re doing a pick em to celebrate the event.

The NFL season is still 6 months from its start, but the Cleveland Browns are already 1-0. Earlier this week the Browns, really the city of Cleveland beat out Buffalo to become the focal point of Draft Day, the upcoming NFL-sanctioned movie from Ivan Reitman.
